Aged 102
Forever Loved

8th April 1916 – 20th February 2019

Late of Nordby Village, West Pennant Hills.

This is the story of Norah Kathleen Moore who was known to most as Norah.  Born on 8 April 1916 in London, England to Annie Sarah and John Joshua Nichols.

Norah was educated at Hogarth School in Chiswick in the primary and secondary level.  As a youngster  her interests lay in netball, high jump and hurdles, all of which she continued into adulthood and excelled in each.

Norah got her first job at the Royal Standard Laundry as a Packer at the age of 14.  Later in life she held a variety of part-time and full-time  jobs  that included cashiering and payroll officer work, but many more  years were spent dedicated to home duties and a number of home jobs.

In 1932 at the age of 16 she met her life-long partner Sid.  They were very happily married for 56 years and had two children who they adored – Terry and Valerie.

In later life Norah and Sid moved to Australia to join Terry, his wife Lyn and their new baby Penny, followed two years later by Robin.  Valerie soon joined them on this new exciting lifetime adventure.

After arriving in Australia Norah was very involved in playing bowls, both indoor and outdoor, also Canasta, plus her life-long passion for theatre, cinema and live entertainment.  She and Sid spent many happy holidays travelling around the Australian continent.

Robin married Carla and they gave Norah and Sid two beautiful great grandchildren – Finley and Marley.

Norah had a wonderful life enriched by her sense of humour and love of family.  Her joy of life was enhanced by their move to Australia.

She was a strong, forceful character beloved by many.

Norah will be sadly missed by all her family, extended family and friends.

Please join Norah’s family for some light refreshments immediately after the service in the adjoining function room.
