Chapel Function - Pre-Arranged Funeral
Hills Family Funerals is able to offer you a range of venues throughout Sydney for the service. We also have our own historic chapel and function centre at Rouse Hill.
A rich, dignified history
The Chapel blends a rich and dignified history with state-of-the-art facilities for use during the service.
The Chapel originates from 1863, one of the oldest surviving buildings in Rouse Hill. Renowned architect Edmund Thomas Blackett, famed for his University of Sydney and St. Andrew’s Cathedral designs, designed the chancel and south vestry to the church.
The so-called ‘Wren of Sydney’, he was most recognised for his ecclesiastical architecture and we are proud of his contribution to the substantial heritage and history of the Chapel.
Local dignitaries, such as Hannah Rouse of Rouse Hill, contributed in fitting out the church to make it one of the most significant places of worship in the area at the time. The first registered christening held at the Chapel was for baby Emma Maria Staff, and took place on 26th January 1863.
Recently lovingly restored and refreshed in calm and neutral tones, our Chapel offers a serene and welcoming backdrop for varying styles of service and celebration.
A blend of tradition and modernity
Whist steeped in history, the Chapel has not rested on its laurels, but has moved with the times to be equipped today with the latest in audio and video facilities.
The facilities on offer provide families the ability to create an individual funeral celebration. These include a fully air-conditioned Chapel that comfortably seats up to 100 people; a generous and flexible time allowance for conducting the service (as our experience shows no family wants to feel rushed); ease of access for the elderly and wheelchair users.
In addition to state-of-the-art plasma television, DVD and audio facilities, ensuring all the attendees can fully participate in the service, there is an option of having a digital recording of the service made. For more details on this, click here (this is a service we choose to offer at a highly competitive rate, as we believe it offers an important and lasting memory of a shared remembrance with family and friends).
There is ample and convenient parking available on site, as well as direct access after the service to the Function Centre and after funeral catering services, located adjacent to the Chapel and a short stroll away.
